One of the most important things you can do when you move to a another country is to celebrate the local holidays and participate in the local customs. Thankfully Switzerland has many local customs which are fun and accessible for families. At our club we organize events celebrating both the local holidays and the natural beauty of our surroundings.

Swiss National Day - August 1st is when all of Switzerland celebrates the founding of the original Swiss Confederation in 1291. We hold an annual dinner on a mountain restaurant with spectacular views of Lake Lucerne.

Wild Blueberry Picking - for one of our best attended events we take you deep into the forest outside of Lucerne where there are wild blueberries as far as the eye can see. After the hard work of picking blueberries we have a family-style BBQ and picnic on-site.

Adult/Teen Hike - every year we choose a new place to organize a hike for our adult and teen members followed by an apéro or lunch.

Family Hike - not long after our Adult Hike we organize a family hike followed by a meal at a local restaurant.

Family Outing - there are never a shortage of mountain resorts that are perfect for the whole family. We organize an event in late spring somewhere near Lucerne.
