SASL Members and Friends are invited to celebrate the 4^th of July at the Lido Lucerne, This Lakefront recreational area with a sandy beach, swimming pool, and playground for the kids is the perfect setting for this special SASL celebration. Let's enjoy a fun afternoon, add to the spirit and wear RED, WHITE & BLUE (optional) don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, beach towel and everything you need for a day at the lake.

The Beach House Grill will offer their gourmet Lido burgers with a variety of salads  (vegan and vegetarian options available). SASL will continue our tradition and ask you to bring a dessert for all to enjoy!

We are delighted to invite you to join us for one of Switzerland’s most traditional and fascinating folklore events: Schwingen, often referred to as Swiss wrestling.

For those who have never experienced it before, Schwingen is Switzerland’s national sport. Two competitors wear special canvas shorts over their clothing and wrestle in a ring filled with sawdust. The objective is to throw your opponent onto their back using skill, strength, balance, and technique. The sport has deep roots in Swiss rural culture and has been practiced for centuries.

A Schwingen festival is much more than a sporting competition. It is a celebration of Swiss traditions, featuring folk music, alphorn players, yodeling, traditional costumes, local food, and a unique festive atmosphere. It offers a wonderful opportunity to experience authentic Swiss culture up close.

Whether you are a long-time fan or completely new to the sport, we are sure you will enjoy this memorable day of tradition, competition, and Swiss hospitality.

We look forward to sharing this special experience with you. 

Tickets will be on sale by 8am (possibly sooner) at the door for CHF 15 (youn can't buy them online or in advance).

The first match starts at 8:30am. Some of us will be there at 10am.

Members can show up anytime. The final match will be at 4 - 4:30 pm and the prize giving ceremony is at 5pm. SASL will pay for an ice-cream or drink for members.

Family Christmas Event

Lace up your skates and join SASL for a magical Saturday afternoon of ice skating in a winter wonderland!

The open-air ice rink at Europaplatz in Luzern is back! Set against the backdrop of the lake, our snow-capped Alps and the enchanting Christmas market, this beautifully illuminated 500m2 ice rink can be used free of charge. Ice skates can be rented on site. Ice skates and skating supports are also available for the little ones.

Entrance is free; shoe rental will be covered by SASL (for member's) or bring your own. 

To warm your hands and soul, SASL will offer a hot drink for everyone!  The Chalet Bar offers additional drinks, snacks and sweets which can be purchased individually. We reserved a table inside the "Zauber-Chalet" next to the rink, while non-skaters can enjoy a drink and food from the menue card. A little Apéro will be offered by SASL.

Fondue and Raclette is not only about anxiously waiting for your cheese to melt to enjoy a delicious dinner, it's mainly about spending time together chatting and sharing stories while keeping warm near the fireplace during a cold winter night! The Titlis Hütte will host us again for this cozy evening - with a choice of Fondue or Raclette!
